Pallet flow rack

Gravity flow with FIFO rotation (first in, first out): gravity rollers set on a slight incline bring the load to the front as it is consumed.

  • Guaranteed FIFO rotation
  • More efficient picking
  • Fewer errors and losses
  • Better inventory control
  • Lower operating costs

Application

When does a pallet flow rack make sense?

When you need to control expiration dates or lots (FIFO), with high turnover and many pallets per SKU: food, beverages, pharmaceuticals or supply to production lines.

Automatic FIFOThe first pallet in is the first one out.
Separate aislesLoading and unloading do not cross paths.
Less travelPallets arrive at the unloading face on their own.
High densityIntermediate aisles are eliminated.
How it works

How it works

01

The pallet is placed at the lane entrance, from the loading aisle.

02

It advances by gravity on the rollers, with its speed controlled by brake rollers.

03

A separator holds the exit pallet so it can be removed without the pressure of the others.

Components
  1. 01 Inclined roller lanes
  2. 02 Speed controllers (brake rollers)
  3. 03 Pallet separator

  5. 05 Entry guides
  6. 06 Frames and beams

Loading aisle at one end and unloading aisle at the other. Lane depth depends on the pallets per SKU.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if a pallet is damaged?

It can jam on the rollers. That is why the design defines the acceptable pallet type and condition.

Do pallets collide as they move down the lane?

Speed controllers (brake rollers) regulate the descent and the separator prevents pressure at the exit.

Pallet flow or push-back?

Pallet flow gives FIFO rotation with two aisles. Push-back gives LIFO rotation with a single aisle.

Does it require maintenance?

Yes, periodic inspection of rollers and speed controllers. We include it in our maintenance programs.
